Open Question: Why doesn't Hamas negotiate with Israel?

It seems obvious that eventually there will be a two-state solution. The Jews aren't going and neither are the Palestinians. It seems to me that Hamas would be a lot better off stopping hostilities and negotiating. They would then have an opportunity to discuss things like access to resources (especially water), details of the border and things like controlling their possess immigration policy. I would think that if they did this most of the world would want to look them receive a fair deal, and even the more extreme Israelis would want them to receive a deal good enough to make them a stable country and want to keep peace. If they carry on as the are a lot of these issues will be decided for them by default. It seems to me that in their possess interest they should negotiate.

Open Question: Want to know why Israel and Palestine are fighting? This is why...?

As the Arabs look the Jews Share Today at 9:33pm His Majesty King Abdullah, The American Magazine November, 1947 I am especially delighted to address an American audience, for the tragic problem of Palestine will never be solved without American understanding, American sympathy, American support. So many billions of words have been written about Palestine—perhaps more than on any other subject in history—that I hesitate to add to them. Yet I am compelled to do so, for I am reluctantly convinced that the world in general, and America in particular, knows almost nothing of the true case for the Arabs. We Arabs follow, perhaps far more than you think, the press of America. We are frankly disturbed to find that for every word printed on the Arab side, a thousand are printed on the Zionist side. There are many reasons for this. You have many millions of Jewish citizens interested in this question. They are highly vocal and wise in the ways of publicity. There are few Arab citizens in America, and we are as yet unskilled in the technique of modern propaganda. The results have been alarming for us. In your press we look a horrible caricature and are told it is our true portrait. In every justice, we cannot let this pass by default. Our case is quite simple: For nearly 2,000 years Palestine has been almost 100 per cent Arab. It is still preponderantly Arab today, in spite of enormous Jewish immigration. But if this immigration continues we shall soon be outnumbered—a minority in our home. Palestine is a tiny and very needy country, about the size of your state of Vermont. Its Arab population is only about 1,200,000. Already we have had forced on us, against our will, some 600,000 Zionist Jews. We are threatened with many hundreds of thousands more. Our position is so simple and natural that we are amazed it should even be questioned. It is exactly the same position you in America take in regard to the unhappy European Jews. You are sorry for them, but you do not want them in your country. We do not want them in ours, either. Not because they are Jews, but because they are foreigners. We would not want hundreds of thousands of foreigners in our country, be they Englishmen or Norwegians or Brazilians or whatever. Think for a moment: In the last 25 years we have had one third of our entire population forced upon us. In America that would be the equivalent of 45,000,000 complete strangers admitted to your country, over your violent protest, since 1921. How would you have reacted to that? Because of our perfectly natural dislike of being overwhelmed in our possess homeland, we are called blind nationalists and heartless anti-Semites. This charge would be ludicrous were it not so dangerous. No people on earth have been less "anti-Semitic" than the Arabs. The persecution of the Jews has been confined almost entirely to the Christian nations of the West. Jews, themselves, will admit that never since the Great Dispersion did Jews develop so freely and reach such importance as in Spain when it was an Arab possession. With very minor exceptions, Jews have lived for many centuries in the Middle East, in complete peace and friendliness with their Arab neighbours. Damascus, Baghdad, Beirut and other Arab centres have always contained big and prosperous Jewish colonies. Until the Zionist invasion of Palestine began, these Jews received the most generous treatment—far, far better than in Christian Europe. Now, unhappily, for the first time in history, these Jews are beginning to feel the effects of Arab resistance to the Zionist assault. Most of them are as anxious as Arabs to cease it. Most of these Jews who have found glad homes among us resent, as we do, the coming of these strangers. I was puzzled for a long time about the odd belief which apparently persists in America that Palestine has somehow "always been a Jewish land." Recently an American I talked to cleared up this mystery. He pointed out that the only things most Americans know about Palestine are what they read in the Bible. It was a Jewish land in those days, they reason, and they assume it has always remained so. Nothing could be farther from the truth. It is absurd to reach so far back into the mists of history to argue about who should have Palestine today, and I apologise for it. Yet the Jews do this, and I must answer to their "historic claim." I wonder if the world has ever seen a stranger sight than a group of people seriously pretending to claim a land because their ancestors lived there some 2,000 years ago! If you suggest that I am biased, I invite you to read any sound history of the period and verify the facts. Such fragmentary records as we have indicate that the Jews were wandering nomads from Iraq who moved to southern Turkey, came south to Palestine, stayed there a short time, and then passed to Egypt, where they remained about 400 years. About 1300 BC (according to your calendar) they left Egypt and

Open Question: How Palestine became Israel?

In the tardy 1800s a tiny, fanatic movement called “political Zionism” began in Europe. Its goal was to create a Jewish state somewhere in the world. Its leaders settled on the ancient and long-inhabited land of Palestine for the location of this state.1 Palestine's population at this time was approximately ninety-six percent non-Jewish (primarily Muslim and Christian).2 Over the coming decades Zionist leaders used various strategies to accomplish their goal of taking over Palestine Encouraging Jewish immigration to Palestine, partly through the invention of such deceptive slogans as "a land without a people for a people without a land," when, in fact, the land was already inhabited. Since the majority of Jews were not Zionists until after WWII, Zionists used an array of misleading strategies, including secret collaboration with the Nazis, to push immigration.3 Convincing a “Great Power” to back this process. By turn, Zionists approached the Ottomans, the British, and the U.S. to further their cause. While the Ottomans turned them down, the British (being promised that American Zionists would push the U.S. to enter World War I on the side of England) eventually acceded, as did the U.S. (due to concerns of politicians like Harry Truman that they would lose elections otherwise).4 Buying up the land (sometimes through subterfuges), proclaiming it Jewish for every eternity, and refusing to allow non-Jews to live or work on the purchased land. This was called "redeeming" the land and was financed by a variety of means, including by such wealthy banking families as the Rothschilds.5 Historic Palestine, the land now occupied by the state of Israel, was a multicultural society. The creation of Israel involved the expulsion of 750,000 men, women, and kids from their homes. Violence, if such financial dispossession should fail or prove too slow – as it did.6 In the 1930s, Jewish land ownership had increased from approximately 1% to just over 6% of the land, and violence had increased as well. With the emergence of several Zionist terrorist gangs (whose ranks included a number of future Prime Ministers of Israel), there was violent conflict. Numerous people of every ethnicities were killed – then, as now, the big majority of them Christian and Muslim Palestinians to read the complete article click the link below http://www.ifamericansknew.org/history/ref-nakba.html

I have to write a paper on two different solutions to a U.S. societal problem presented by any two political party or by any two organizations. Open Question: Naturalization certificate was sent back because it had no seal. How can I get a passport in a hurry?

My U.S. Naturalization certificate had no seal on it or number on it, and it was returned to me when I sent in my application for my passport. They told me to send the certificate to U.S.immigration, and receive it sealed with the number. When I receive it back, send it back to them. The certificate was from 1983. I think my parents were lazy to receive the sealed stamp at the time. I wanted to go out of the country by February. I went to the U.S.immigration place today, and I was told to make an appointment with a counselor there. The appointment isn't till the 15th of January. Is there any way I can try to receive a seal before that time? I don't really want to receive a new certificate if possible, because a renewal for a certificate is $380. I just need a stamp on the old one. I really want to go the Philippines by Valentines day, and my vacation ends by end of February. Thanks.

Open Question: Can an illegal immigrant get their green card or citizenship if they have a juvenile record?

So my girlfriend moved here from the Philippines when she was about 8 years old. she was legal for about a year. her parents never helped her to change her immigration status although they are legal green card holders. Her brother was born here so he is legal too, so she is the only one who isn't legal in her family. She is now 18 and can't receive any i.d., or drivers license, BUT he has a social security number. But when she was about 15 or 16, she got a misdemeanor and got charged with petty theft because she was with a pal who shoplifted. Everyone told her that her record would be sealed when she turned 18. Is it possible for her to still receive citizenship? Maybe through marriage or amnesty? What can she do? And what can I do to help her?

Open Question: What do you think of this California Initiative?

CALIFORNIA TAXPAYER PROTECTION ACT Sponsored by Taxpayer Revolution The Initiative’s Laws Will: REQUIRE issuance of the official "CALIFORNIA BIRTH CERTIFICATE” for births to ONLY citizens and legal permanent residents. Birth to Foreign Parent document issued to every others. cease 18 years of WELFARE payments to illegal aliens for their U.S. born kids. ALLOW only CITIZENS AND PERMANENT LEGAL RESIDENTS eligibility for every public benefits including non-emergency and pre-natal care. ALLOWS Immigration and Customs Enforcement to review approved applications for federal benefits that illegal aliens are permitted to receive due to a U.S. born child. (Please look the initiative summary.) An article in the Sacramento Bee on September 10, 2007 by Washington correspondent David Whitney summed up automatic citizenship: "Although Congress has never passed a law saying so, no president has ever ordered it, and no court has ever ruled on the issue, each of these babies automatically becomes a U.S. citizen when it takes its first breath." This is taxpayer injustice. Our citizen’s movement will launch the national debate we need to bring an END to AUTOMATIC CITIZENSHIP in the United States of America. The movement will uphold the recorded words and real intent of the authors of our Constitution. To the authors and the states which passed the 14th Amendment "subject to the jurisdiction" is to mean that citizens are born to parents who are "NOT subjects of a foreign power." The goal to cease automatic citizenship is critical toward reducing the crime problem. A major reason deported criminal illegal aliens return immediately to the United States after deportation is because they have left behind kids born here. Michael Chertoff, Homeland Security, reported there are two million criminal illegal aliens. There will never be "BORDER SECURITY" without ending automatic citizenship. I would post a link nut there is a petition attached to it and I am not sure that would comply with Y/A

Open Question: Pass the DREAM Act - Support Higher Education for All Students ?

Pass the DREAM Act - Support Higher Education for every Students The problem: Many American students graduate from college and high school each year, and face a roadblock to their dreams: they can't steer, can't work legally, can't further their education, and can't pay taxes to contribute to the economy just because they were brought to this country illegally by their parents or lost legal status along the way. It is a classic case of lost potential and broken dreams, and the permanent underclass of youth it creates is detrimental to our economy. Former Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch has said: “In short, although these kids have built their lives here, they have no possibility of achieving and living the American dream. What a tremendous loss for them, and what a tremendous loss to our society.” The solution: The federal DREAM Act (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act), is a bipartisan legislation that would allow these students conditional legal status and eventual citizenship granted that they meet every the following requirements: --if they were brought to the United States before they turned 16, are below the age of 30, --have lived here continuously for five years, --graduated from a U.S. high school or obtained a GED --have good moral character with no criminal record and --attend college or enlist in the military. Why should you care? There is no other pathway to citizenship for these students. Besides the injustice of punishing kids for the alleged transgressions of their parents, throwing away the talent we have invested in from K-12 and accruing losses in human and financial capital by deporting talented students is bad public policy. The Social Security Administration has recently stated that we need a net increase of 100,000 immigrants each year to ensure Social Security solvency. Passing the DREAM Act would actually help solve the Social Security crisis by creating a larger taxable base of educated Americans that are already in the United States. It would also free some of the backlog that currently plagues the legal immigration system. Also, the DREAM Act in its latest form, does not grant in-state tuition to any student. Endorsements: Since 2001, almost a 1000 organizations have officially endorsed the bill. Barack Obama has stated that DREAM Act beneficiaries are “American kids for every intents and purposes” and has called this a top priority. Tell President-Elect Obama to pass the DREAM Act in 2009. look DreamActivist.org to receive more involved.

Open Question: Do you believe that Congress could reduce the number of gangs by enforcing laws against illegals?

cis.org Immigrant Gangs: Pols still don’t receive it By Jon Feere, January 5, 2009 In their quest for open borders, many politicians still fail to understand the link between immigration and the growth of gangs. The latest example is chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Rep. Joe Baca (D-Calif.) – who happens to have one of the worst records on immigration enforcement. In the next Congress, Baca plans to introduce an initiative to battle gangs. It sounds like a great idea, but if his past efforts are a guide, it’s likely that this initiative will focus only on prevention programs akin to the anti-drug program known as D.A.R.E. The problem with this effort is that it in no way addresses the continuous flow of illegal alien gangsters over our borders. Congress could dramatically reduce the growth of gangs simply through better enforcement of immigration law, as illustrated in a recent middle for Immigration Studies Backgrounder I co-authored with the middle’s Senior Policy Analyst Jessica Vaughan titled, “Taking Back the Streets.” Baca doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge this reality. But not only is Baca failing to be pro-active in reducing gangs through immigration enforcement, he’s actually making things worse by advocating policies that would benefit gang members: an end to workplace enforcement measures and a massive illegal alien amnesty. Baca is asking President-elect Obama to cease workplace enforcement via executive order upon taking office. What the congressman fails to realize that many illegal alien gang members rarely make a living as gangsters; many work regular jobs in restaurants, construction, and landscaping, for example. It’s after dusk when they hone their machete-wielding skills. Arresting these individuals at work rather than at a crime scene is clearly ideal. Baca explains that ending workplace enforcement would “reduce the fear of deportation.” But such a change would only embolden illegal alien gang members, individuals who should fear deportation. Baca is also chomping at the bit for another amnesty debate. He says “our nation needs it” and that it “doesn't take away from enforcement.” He couldn’t be more wrong. Any “pathway to citizenship” would be a huge benefit to gangs as it would cement their presence in the country and make the job of law enforcement much more difficult. The option of deportation – perhaps the most effective law enforcement tool in fighting the growth of violent gangs – would be eliminated. Even more ludicrous is the fact that the last big amnesty proposal actually included a provision aimed directly at benefiting illegal alien gang members; they simply had to sign a “renunciation of gang affiliation.” Likely, Baca’s desire to welcome more illegal alien gang members into our neighborhoods has not changed and we’d look similar provisions in future amnesty proposals. If we are serious about reducing gang crime, we must improve immigration enforcement efforts. Increased gang activity is a direct consequence of lax enforcement of immigration law. http://www.cis.org/feere/polsdontgetit

Open Question: How much should immigration cost?

My thought is that it should cost whatever it costs in impacts to the country. Of course it costs far less to run a country of 1 million then a country of 305 million (where we are now). So what do you think? Should it be free? Should it be subsidized as it is now by taxpayers? Should it cost enough to supply every of the neccesary infrastructure that immigration puts onto taxpayers? I am referring to LEGAL immigration. Of course we every know that illegal immigrants should never be allowed to stay. Sparky - I know it can seem expensive but knowing that it costs more then what you paid (taxpayers paid some of the bill for you) do you think its fair? Should the taxpayers be forced to pay some of the costs?

Open Question: Renunciation of Canadian citizenship?

When you do Renunciation of Canadian citizenship, do you have to be in Canada? How long will it take. My husband is in another country right now. He did not know that he is not allowed by the home country to have dual citizenship. As of now, he was forced to write a letter of Renunciation of Canadian citizenship in order to keep his home country citizenship. The thing is, he is marry to me, a canadian citizen and we have a daughter together here in Canada. I need to know how, if there is any way that he can fly back here to Canada. He has been away since November 2008 and i am not working right now. I am a full time student. If this process is done by the immigration office to another like the home country to canadian embassy in the home country, will the process takes a lot of time or it will be faster than regular joe applying for Renunciation of Canadian citizenship.

Open Question: Hello from Mexico..question for all americans?

Hello guys well im from Mexico and I usually like to visit yahoo international including the USA. excuse my english but im still learning at school i noticed that there are many questions about race and by what I can look, Americans think that we Mexicans are native americans?/ my question is really?? what is the reason?? i mean Mexico is very multicultural, there are native americans, Europeans and middle easterns. native americans arent a mayority here. yet many americans think we every are hahah. I live in a state where the mayority of us are from German, Spanis and austrian descent, the state next to me in the mayority are Spanish, native americans and some blacks. I read an article about immigration and i found out that Mexicans that immigrate to the USA are for the most part the native Americans. Actually most of the people who are immigrating are the natives. is that the reason why? i dont know i just think its silly well thanks and hugs from Mexico Nita...Mexicans have also german and austrian descend. Mexico had an austrian king and many germans and austrians came to Mexico. and that doesnt make me European cause i was born in Mexico.

Open Question: please help. cant decide?

hi, im in a terrible condition. im married with my husband for 5 yrs now. we got married when i was 18. now, im 23 and he is 25. we have a 4 yrs old son. i live in usa but he used to live back home in asia. i stayed with him for a year after we got married but then i had to arrive back to usa for my immigration and other stuff. i visited him every year for 2/3 months. i did live together with him for 3 yrs before we got married. so we actually lived together total of 4 yrs. it seemed to me that he really loved me but he has serious anger issues. whenever he is upset he is going to hurt me both emotionally and phyically. it happens once in awhile. he also have alcohol problems. he drinks atleast 3/4 times a week and gets really drunk and starts a battle. he was admitted in the rehab by his parents twice. but we dont look any improvement.he says he loves me but he did cheat on me couple of times. i got to know it from his friends and his possess sister. i forgave him thinking that we are in a long distance relationship and maybe he did it only because of physical needs and also i loved him blindly. anyways, i applied for him after i got my citizenship 1 yr ago. and now he is here since last 3 months. we were doing okay except for his angerness. he will receive mad and abuse me, mostly verbally but sometimes he would slap me and he even spit on my face. i started hating him and i think i made a terrible mistake by going against my parents and choosing the wrong guy. now, i think differently and i think ive changed for good that im not ready to receive abused. i beg him not to do every these infront of our son but he never listens. and i really dont want my son to become another copy of him. he is only 4 and he started learning every these bad words from his dad.i found out that he did cheat on me again after coming here and this time im not ready to forgive him. he admitted and begged me to forgive him one last time but its just not possible for me anymore. im not glad with him at every. its like im hurting myself both mentally and physically.i started talking about him with one of my close friends (male). he gave me a lot of emotinal support. and actually, i started loving him and he says he loved me for a long time and he wants to make things better for me and my son. i know this guy for a long time, 4 yrs. and i know he is a very sweet, decent, caring guy. and my parents also like him.so finally, i decided to receive a divorce and move on with my life. i told my husband that i want to move out next month and i dont want to be with him anymore. he started crying and begging me for another chance. it made me feel really bad and guilty. but then when i think again, what i had to go through..i feel bad for myself. finally, ive the guts to take a decision. yesterday, he was telling me he is going to kill himself if i leave him, i stayed quite as i didnt want another battle infront of my son. but he is such a psycho! he stabbed his chest with a blade..same thing with his hand. i begged him and tried to take the blade away from him. told him not to do it infront of the baby but he continued. i didnt have any choice but to call 911 for help. they came and took him to the emergency. i visited later him later after 2 hrs. the doctor told me he is physically okay. the cuts arent very deep but he needs to stay in the hospital for couple of days for his mental state and look a psychiastric.my son has seen every these, and hes asking me every these questions. ive called my mom and my sister after coming home and told them everything. they are begging me to leave my husband and move on for the sake of my son. i still do care about my husband a lot. i want him to receive better and start a good life. but i just cant make him understand that i dont want to stay with him anymore. ive suffered enough for my age.i really dont know if im making the right decision. any advice? p.s he is home now. acting very normal...trying to help me with household chores which is so not him...hes telling me dis time he will change 4 good...dunno what 2 do..very confused

Open Question: unadmissability in US?

i have applied for asylum in 2004 and was granted it. by then i have had two misdemeanor records (shoplifting, and possession of stolen goods). the immigration knew about them and still issued assylum. after the 1.5 years i got a GC. during my interview for that, the officer was concerned with my records and told me that he could have deported me if he wanted to because i might be considered unadmissible due to article 209 or something like that. he did say though it was to his discretion.. so, he did give me the GC and advised not to receive in any other criminal activities. the question is. if you are issued GC, and immigration knows about your records and still issues it to you, are you admissable or not??? are their any waivers needed even if you have a GC already afterwards? or, if they issue it to you, this means that the record doesnt make you unadmissible anymore???

Open Question: Im a dental hygiene student and my green card is in the process can i use my TIN for the clinical purposes?

This semester we will just be learning dental stuff in school. So basically, we are going to practice our instruments with our classmates in school. But next semester clinicals will be held outside the school at the veterans affairs especially. I asked the Immigration person at the INt'l students office, even though I'm not an international student if it is ok to fill out the forms needed by the VA with my TIN instead of my SSN. He said it would be ok, like for background checks and stuff. I'm hoping they wouldn't count it as fraud or anything since I will only be there to study. I've been waiting for my green card for 5 years now here in the states, since my mom had filed for a petition for me when i came as a tourist because she was an immigrant and naturalized after I became 21. but I will have to wait about 5 more since I went over 21. So now every I can do is study. Since I'm already in the dental hygiene program and I will probably go to dentistry after, by which at that time my green card would arrive , I would really like to confirm if the TIN would be ok to write below SSN.

Open Question: Population warfare. Preference for Female immigrants. Feasible? (political Science)?

Regarding immigrants from the Middle East. Would a female-only immigration possibility be feasible and safer? Such a policy on the part of EU governments, Australia or US governments would involve active green-card grants given only to female immigrants from Islamic countries, no males. Such a policy would also be like Ali-G's policy of allowing only "fit" women into the country. But it would keep the men out, who are more likely to be abusive and zealous in the practice of their religion. Such a policy, if enacted over a generation would seriously reduce the numbers of people in Islamic countries if we deem them an foe. This is just a very random thought i had in response to youtube videos depicting Islam as a religion that allows violence towards women. If need be; this policy might be followed up by a draconian style deportation of male citizens with Islamic or Middle Eastern links. We might look this in future.
